Actress Kaniha will play a cameo in Mani Ratnam’s new film after Kadal. Dulqar Salman and Nitya Menen will play the lead characters in the film. Kaniha entered the tinsel world through Mani Ratnam's Production House Madras Talkies in 2003. The actress said she is happy to be a part of the director's film.

The film, starring William Gillette, is a vital missing link in the history of Holmes on screen. The newly found film is not only Gillette's sole surviving appearance as Holmes, it is also the only film Gillette ever made.
