         Mythili to handle social theme    
When commercial cinemas are ruling the roost, some directors have come forward to make films based on social themes. One such film is Swargethekkal Sundaram, to be directed by new comer Manoj Aravindakshan.

         Reenu in Mohanlal-Manju film    
Reenu Mathews made her entry through megastar Mammootty’s Emmanuel. She was able to play matured roles even though she has acted only in a few films. Reenu has been roped in to play an important role in the film with Mohanlal and Manju Warrier.

         Acted… only because it was Sibi Malayil film: Narain    
Narain, who had distanced himself from Malayalam films in the past one year, is returning to the same. He is doing a prominent role in the Sibi Malayil film Njangakude Veettile Adhitikal.

         Prithvi to don khaki again    
In many a recent filmi assignments, Prithviraj had appeared as police officers. Luckily, most of them were box-office hits. In the next film also, he would be doing a cop’s role, but with a difference.

         Pearle Maaney opposite Asif Ali    
Actress Pearle Maaney, who played an adivasi girl in Njan, appears in a different get up in her next film. She will be next seen in Lijo Jose Pallisseri’s Double Barrel opposite Asif Ali.

         Big B, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan to come under one roof    
BANGALORE: Indian cinema's stalwarts such as Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, Mammootty and Mohanlal will come together under one roof here Nov 29 for the inaugural ceremony of late Kannada superstar Rajkumar's memorial.

         Fahadh-Ranjith team    
A Ranjith-Fahadh Faasil teaming-up for a new film is on the anvil. Ranjith’s last venture was Njan with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. Its entry into the Panorama had made the director happy. He expects to start the new project early next year.

         Sana Althaf opposite Fahadh    
Sana Althaf has been roped in to play the lead opposite Fahadh Faasil in Mariyam Mukku, debut film of script writer James Albert. Hima Davis was earlier reported to play the female lead. Now, Sana has replaced Hima. She has played Dulquer Salmaan's sister in Vikramadithyan.

         Namitha getting ready for a break    
Namitha Pramod is a brilliant actress who has won the hearts of Malayalam movie buffs over a short span of time. She says she is getting ready for a short break after the shoot of Vineeth Srinivasan-starrer Ormayundo Ee Mukham.

         Mia opposite Suresh Gopi    
Actress Mia George is one actress who has proved her mettle in all the characters played so far. She is now all set to work with Suresh Gopi in her next. She plays a pediatric psychologist in M Mohan's ‘My God’.

         Mohanlal-Manju Warrier film: Shoot begins shortly    
The shoot of the much-awaited Mohanlal-Manju Warrier film will begin on October 31. The marquee actor will reach the sets on November 1. Mohanlal and director Sathyan Anthikkad will be uniting again in this film, expecting to create some ‘magic’. Rajan Pramod has written the script and it would his first work for a Manju film. Vidyasagar has given music for the songs penned by Rafeeq Ahammed. Camera will be cranked by Sameer Thahir. The film is being produced by Antony Perumbavur.

         Nithya Menen as Allu Arjun’s heroine?    
Will South Indian actress Nithya Menon be cast opposite Allu Arun? Yes, say reports. This Malayali actress is likely to act in the Telugu film starring Allu Arjun and directed by Thrivikram Srinivasan.

         Nyla plays cop in Mammootty film    
Nyla Usha is getting ready to act with megastar Mammootty after Kunjananthante Kada and Gangster. This time she is not paired opposite Mammootty. Nyla plays police superintendent in Fireman directed by Deepu Karunakaran and produced by Milan Jaleel.

Fahadh Faazil is an actor, who succeeds in bringing the best in all the characters he portrays on screen. The actor, a part of many good films, will next play an ad director. The actor will play the central character in a full-fledged comedy film scripted and directed by Siju S Bava.

         Prithvi, Biju in Sachi’s film    
Scenarist Sachi is into the making of a film with Prithviraj and Biju Menon in the lead roles. Sachi himself is directing the film. Producer of ‘Ordinary’ Rajeev Narayanan is producing the film, which would be a love story that delights viewers musically as well.

         Saritha is making a comeback    
After a long long interval, Saritha is going to make a come back... It will happen through a Malayalam film to be directed by Haridas. Sasi Kalinga will do the lead role.

         Jyotika to team up with Rahman    
In the Tamil remake of hit Malayalam film How Old Are You, Jyotika would be teaming up with Rahman. When Jyotika will do Manju Warrier’s role, Rahman will do Kunchacko Boban’s. The film will soon be remade in Hindi and Tamil. Another important thing is, the film will mark Jyotika’s come back after a long gap. Roshen Andrews, the director of the original version will direct the Tamil version, as well.

         Kavya to play corporate employee    
Kavya Madhavan has signed her next project after Saji Surendran’s She Taxi. She will be next seen in Akashavani directed by Khais Millen. She will be playing a corporate employee, a character opposite to the roles performed so far.

         Jayasurya gets heroine at last    
A Mithun Manuel Thomas film Aadu Oru Beekara Jeeviyanu has already grabbed the attention of critics and movie watchers for its unique theme and intriguing title. The director had been scouting for a heroine that needed to be none other than a beautiful goat. The search extended over days and finally his eyes got stuck in Pinky, a cute goat. Within minutes, she passed the screen test that ran through the debutant director’s mind. Jayasurya is playing the lead role in the film.

         Prithvi, Nivin, Bhavana in Ivide    
Director Shyamaprasad, a recipient of national and state awards, is all set to start his next, a crime film with Prithviraj, Nivin Pauly and Bhavana in key roles. The film named Ivide, will be shot in Atlanta in the US. Other casts and crew will be from the US itself.

         Dileep, Fahadh join hands    
The latest trend seems to be films that cast more than one hero. In movies such as Sapthamashree Thaskaraha by Anil Radhakrishna Menon, Double barrel by Lijo and Cousins by Vaisak, we have seen more than one actor in the lead. More and more directors are trying the same.

         Kajol in remake of How Old Are You    
Reports say Kajol is making her comeback with the remake of How Old Are You, which was a second innings for actress Manju Warrier. There were reports earlier that Kajol will make a comeback through the Hindi remake of Norwegian television thriller Penoza, but somehow that didn’t work out.

         Kaniha in Mani Ratnam film    
Actress Kaniha will play a cameo in Mani Ratnam’s new film after Kadal. Dulqar Salman and Nitya Menen will play the lead characters in the film. Kaniha entered the tinsel world through Mani Ratnam's Production House Madras Talkies in 2003. The actress said she is happy to be a part of the director's film.

         Will it be Mohanlal or Mammootty?    
Writer MT Vaseudevan Nair and Director Hariharan are coming together again, after ‘Ezhamarivu’. A period film like Pazhassiraja, it will be a biopic on Payyamvelli Chanthu. But, who will be asked to take up the role? The names of Mohanlal, Mammootty and even Prithviraj are being suggested. But the much-talked-about name is that of Mohanlal and Mammootty.

         Priyadarshan my godfather: Bhavna    
Bhavna Pani debuted as a heroine in Malayalam through Priyadarshan’s film Vettam, ten years ago. Now again, she is coming to Kerala to do a role in a Malayalam film, that too, by the same director. In the film titled Aamayum Muyalum, she will be doing an item dance.

         Deepthi in ‘Oru New Generation Pani’    
Deepthi, daughter of yesteryear actress Sumitra, will be acting in yet another Malayalam film. She will be seen in Oru New Generation Pani, directed by debutant Sankar Narayan. Biyon, who acted in Parangimala will be paired opposite her. She plays a bold and educated girl Indraja in the film.

         Hema Malini turns 66, wants quiet birthday    
MUMBAI: After several hectic travel schedules, veteran actress and politician Hema Malini, who turned 66 Thursday, is happy to spend a "quiet" birthday in Mumbai with her elder daughter Esha and son-in-law Bharat Takhtani.

         Pappa’s Appoos is back    
Don’t you remember Badusha? He was the naughty chap in the hit film Pappayude Swantham Appoos that released about two decades ago. With that single film, little Badshah became the apple of Malayalis’ eye. He has now grown up to become a hero and is making a comeback in the Malayalam movie titled Mumbai Taxi.

         Dilip to share screen space with Suhasini    
After Anjali Menon and Revathy S Varma, a new woman director is entering the tinsel world. Sreebala K Menon, associate director of Sathyan Anthicaud, is all set to direct a film independently. Sreebala, a writer herself, will pen the script of the film.
