DUBAI: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced the second international edition of TCS IT Wiz competition for UAE schools, which will be held on April 28 at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Indian High School, Dubai.

With an aim to nurture and develop local talent, the quiz is open to UAE school students of grades 8 to 12. Schools can send multiple teams of two members as 120 teams from 24 schools have already registered for the quiz. The TCS IT Wiz will focus on the application of information technology across various sectors and aspects such as software products, companies and brands.

“Keeping in view the education system in the UAE, the large expat population base, number of schools and the level of education, we strongly felt the need to host TCS IT Wiz in this region. The IT Wiz is an excellent platform to introduce IT to young and inquisitive minds,” said Varun Kapur, Head of Middle East, Africa and Mediterranean operations of TCS.

Giri Pickbrain, the quiz master, said: “This is a region where students are sharp, globally savvy and very tech-oriented. This gives them a natural edge in an IT quiz.

School students can send in their entries through their respective schools either by email to anand.sitaraman@tcs.com or register online at www.tcsitwiz.com
