NADAPURAM: Police have arrested a woman for allegedly forcing her 14-year-old daughter into prostitution. Nadapuram Control Room CI AV John arrested Vanimel Puthukkayam native woman on Monday in this connection. Five others were also booked after that.

According to the complaint the girl was taken even outside the State for flesh trade.

It all started five months ago. The woman who lived in Chombal Police Station limits was married off to a youth in Malappuram. She has three children from that marriage. Later her husband divorced her. After this the woman lived in different parts of the districts. The victim girl who lived with the woman recently came into contact with her father’s family, to whom she revealed her life.

The family later gave a complaint to the police. The girl had studied only till the fifth standard. The girl was sent for medical examination. But the girl reportedly told the police that she was not sexually abused. The girl was produced in the court and later sent along with her parents.

Other accused have been booked for attempt to rape, sexual assault on children and under POCSO/Child justice act.
