THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: For his brilliant performance in the film Alorukkum, actor Indrans bagged the best actor award in the 2017 State film awards while Parvathy won the award for the best actress award.  
 
The best director is Lijo Jose Pallissery for his film Ee Ma Yau.

For Parvathy, this is her second award State award for the best actress.  In 2015, she got the award for her acting in films Charlie and Ennu Ninte Moideen.  

Ottamuri Velicham directed by Rahul G Nair was chosen as the best feature film. Ethan, directed by Sanju Surendran won the award for the second best film.

Mahesh Narayan was chosen as the best debut director for his film Take Off. Rakshadhikari Baiju, directed by Pramod was declared as the best popular film.

Veteran music director M K Arjunan (Arjunan Master), for the first time, won the State award for the best music director for all his songs in the film Bhayanakam, directed by Jayaraj. Gopi Sundar won the award for the best background score for the film Take Off.

Shahbas Aman was selected as best male playback singer and in the female category, the award went to singer Sithara Krishna Kumar
