THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the list submitted by the State government to the governor, seeking commutation for prisoners, there are no names of TP Chandrsekharan murder accused.

Earlier, there were names of 11 convicts in the TP case. The names were Kodi Suni, K C Ramachandran, P K Kunjanandan, Annan Sijith, Rafeeq, Anoop, Manoj Kumar, Rajeesh, Muhammed Shafi and Shinoj. As this list became controversial, Governor P Sathasivam had sent back the list for revision.

In last November Jail ADGP Anil Kanth had handed over a list containing the names of disciplined 2262 jail inmates to Home Department for commutation of their sentence.

After this, the government, conforming to the Supreme Court criteria, appointed a three-member subcommittee to select eligible persons from this list. From the list, the sub-committee prepared another list of 1700 inmates. In this list, the names of TP case accused were included.

As the list became controversial, the list was revised to include the names of 740 prisoners.

There were also names of Chandrabose murder case convict Muhammed Nisham, Kalluvathilkkal liquor tragedy case convict Manichan, Gooon leader Om Prakash and Karanavar murder case convict Sherin in the list. It is not known whether their names still exist in the new list.
