KOCHI: The BJP has alleged that CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had lied in his affidavit he submitted before the State Election Commission. In it, he undervalued the property belonging to his wife.

“In 2014, though he had sold off that property, this was not mentioned in the affidavit. This was to whiten the black money,” BJP State general secretary A N Radhakrishnan alleged at a press conference held in Ernakulam on Wednesday.

Radhakrishnan said the financial dealings of Kodyeri and his family gave room for suspicion. His money dealings over the past several years has been against the law of the land. There are anomalies in the affidavit submitted in 2011 while contesting in Assembly election and in the one submitted to the governor in 2015. A detailed inquiry should be conducted into this,” he said.
