THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The JD(U) has officially broken the nine-year old ties with the UDF and joined ranks with the LDF. Making an official announcement of the same at a press conference here, JD(U) state president M P Veerendra Kumar said that the JD(U) will henceforth work with the LDF.

“We got much love and friendship for being with the UDF but we suffered heavy political losses due to that alliance. Meanwhile, we’ve never been thankless or disloyal to the UDF. But our political ideologies match with those of the LDF,” said Veerendra Kumar.

He also clarified that he has not discussed about the party’s entry into the LDF with its leaders.

He also took the opportunity to thank both CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran for welcoming him into the LDF.
