KOCHI: The stay on the arrest of actor-MP Suresh Gopi ordered by the high court in connection with tax evasion case has been extended to ten more days. The case will be considered again on Tuesday. Suresh Gopi’s anticipatory bail plea will also be considered on that day.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch informed the court that a secret racket was functioning in the State to help people here to get their vehicle registered in Puducherry in order to evade the road tax in Kerala.

In the examination conducted by the Motor Vehicle Department in Puducherry about 1500 fake addresses were found. More than one vehicle was also found to have been registered under the same address.

In connection with the case, earlier the Crime Branch had questioned Surehs Gopi. Submitting report on this basis, the Crime Branch said that the actor was not cooperating with the probe. The Crime Branch also told the court that they didn’t get any reply from his Pudhucherry address when once a notice was sent after his over-speeding car was captured in CCTV camera of the Traffic Police.
