KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna Pillai has said the reports that his party will join NCP is a blatant lie.
“No such discussion has happened. I’m not seeing NCP chairman Sharad Pawar on January 6. Kerala Congress has never asked for minister’s post. Earlier had we had asked for making the party an LDF ally. We hope that soon a decision will be taken on this. We welcome the decision of Kerala Congress groups, except that of K M Mani, to unite. We don’t mind the coming together of P J Joseph and Mons Joseph,” he said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Pillai said Mani’s wish to join LDF might not happen. “Mani is a person who forgets farmers when he is in power and cry for them when he is out of power. Mani had presented the budget last time while he was kept at tenterhooks by the LDF.  Hence do you think the front will accommodate him?”
The Kerala Congress (B) chairman alleged that K M Mani and Oommen Chandy were responsible for the deplorable economic situation of the State. Though he is a founder member of the UDF, he would not go back to it.
