THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A female aviation student, who is a native of Thiruvananthapuram, attempted suicide after her classmates insulted her because of her caste.

She jumped from the top of the hotel where she stays for her internship at the Karipur airport. Her relatives have alleged that she did so because her classmates insulted her because of her caste.

She is a student of the IPMS Aviation College in Thiruvananthapuram.

The incident happened on November 30. The students were staying at the second floor of the four storey hotel. She climbed to the third floor and jumped down after she was insulted by her classmates because of her caste.

The critically injured girl was first rushed to the Kozhikode Medical College and was later moved to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
